Youth Recommendations – Feminist Standards for Governance

Our recommendations for Youth are:

Integrate young people’s active, meaningful political participation into national development

Provide mandatory comprehensive sexuality education for all grades and in all schools

Increase the financial resources available to youth through sustainable employment

Develop sustainable housing options

 

Feminist Standards for Governance: A People’s Agenda for 2026-2031 is a set of demands for the Government of The Bahamas to serve the people. In a series of workshops from 2021 to 2026, members of the public identified issues of national concern, connected them with systems, named responsible parties, and developed recommendations that address the issues along with their systemic roots. This people’s agenda is evidence of our collective interest in co-creating the future through active participation in governance.
